A couple causes for doubt is overanalyzing our circumstances and getting wrong counsel How do we properly deal with doubt

This is the last article in the 28 article series We will disuss Eph 5:3-8 Col 1:21-23 and 1 Pet 1:13-19 with some emphasis on seeing how the words holy and saints are used in these passages We are called and enabled and required and privileged to be holy and blemeless and to be holy as God is holy That is a very high calling but what God calls us to do He enables us to do at a very high cost to Himself and His Son

We continue with the study of the meaning of the super-important words sanctify holiness holy and saint in this article It's good news to learn that Christians are called to walk in an abiding state of holiness through the atoning death of the Lord Jesus Christ by the enablement of the Holy Spirit through faith The passages that use these words that we will discuss in this article are Rom 6:19 22 12:1 2 Cor 6:14-7:1 1 Thess 3:13 4:1-8 5:23 and 2 Tim 2:21

We will deal with legalism and self-righteousness in this final article in this series Then in an Appendix I'll include some quotations dealing with Lutheran and Reformed/Calvinistic views regarding the use of the Law of God and some quotations dealing with Dispensational Antinomianism and the state of much of the Christian church in our day

We'll discuss passages of the Bible which show that Christians are enabled and required to live/walk in God's righteousness and holiness which includes doing the works required by His word/law moral law)/commandments For one thing we can and we must think and walk by the Holy Spirit We will also discuss the fact that although the Mosaic Law has been set aside in a very real sense by the new covenant God's moral law which derives from His nature has not been and cannot be set aside

We will finish section 3 of this paper in this article Christians Are Enabled,and Required TO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS of God/Christ The Commandments of God Go with the Law the Moral Law of God Then we will go on to section 4 Christians Are Enabled and Required TO OBEY God/Christ Including His Word/Law/Commandments and section 5 Christians Are Enabled and Required TO LIVE/WALK IN RIGHTEOUSNESS which Means Living/Walkng in the Will of God According to His Word/Law/Commandments

We will finish section 2 of this paper in this article Christians Are Enabled and Required to Keep the Law of God the Moral Law Including the Law Contained in the Old Testament Excluding the Ceremonial Law and go on to section 3 Christians are Enabled and Required to Keep the Commandments of God/Christ The Commandments of God Go with the Law of God

This last section is limited to a verse-by-verse discussion of two very important passages Ephesians 1:1-10 and Acts 15:1-11 Both of these passages especially Eph 2:8 are important for the use of the word faith the Acts passage also uses the verb believe but the importance of these passages goes far beyond the use of these words For one thing both passages emphasize that God's saving grace in Christ sets us free from bondage to sin

The New Testament frequently speaks of people receiving things from God and glorifying Him by their faith But faith isn't anything for us to boast about and the fact that we receive things from God by faith does not detract from the fact that the things we receive come 100 percent by grace they are a gift We are supposed to have faith in God We were created to have faith in God God must receive all of the glory

The passages we will study here in Part 4 Rom 4:16-21 Eph 3:14-21 James 1:2-8 Mark 11:20-25 Matt 21:21 22 and Matt 14:25-31 will help us understand faith One very important thing we must understand is that we must put a high priority on keeping doubt out of our hearts The Holy Spirit will enable us to be strong in faith which includes keeping doubt out of our hearts
